Press Release - For Immediate ReleaseCenter Theater Preservation Group To Receive $2,000 grant from NUMMI. Grant will provide seed money for preservation, acquisition, and operation of historic theater in Centerville district of Fremont, CA by local non-profit organization. Fremont, CA, March 10, 2005. The Center Theater Preservation Group Inc. (“CTPG”), a non-profit group dedicated to the preservation and community use of the historic Center Theater (www.centertheater.org) announced receiving a $2,000 grant from NUMMI. “NUMMI has once again shown its deep commitment to the tri-city community, stepping up as our first corporate donor”, said Julie Gilson, President of CTPG. “This grant demonstrates the interest we know is here in our community– but getting the first corporate donation makes a big difference.” CTPG will use the seed money in its campaign to preserve and operate the Center Theater, located at 37411 Fremont Boulevard, Fremont, with the eventual goal of owning the facility. “We believe this resource can best be used in our community if it is owned and operated by a non-profit entity. Our vision is that it will be a venue for a variety of community uses: from rehearsal and performance space for local performing groups to shows by nationally-known artists,” Gilson continued.
